The class is in two parts:

Part 1: Investing Basics and Create Your Plan

Part 2: Build Your Portfolio and Hands-Off Investing System

Your 401k is the minimum you need for a secure retirement.

Don’t get me wrong… I love 401k’s! But you’ll likely need other investments because…

  • 😫401k’s have contribution limits. Depending on the type of retirement you want, you may need more.

  • 👩‍💼Withdrawals from 401ks are taxable, and you have no idea what taxes will be 10, 20, or 30 years from now. It’s wise to spread your tax risk.

  • 🫰401k fees are high! Once you leave a job, you’ll want to open a Rollover IRA, which has cheaper investment options. This means you’ll need to pick your own investments.

The good news is a little can go a long way… thanks to the magic of compounding interesting

Investing just $100 per month for 30 years can land you $113k (which is conservative!).

$100 per month in a savings account at 2% will land you only about $48k. ☹️

My goal for you is to invest $100 a month. (Or $100 more if you already invest)

Here’s what you’ll learn in class:

  • The pros and cons between taxable and tax-advantaged investment accounts (like Roths, 529s, etc.)

  • How to choose which investment accounts are right for you based on your goals and life circumstances

  • How to pick your investments and build a lucrative yet low-risk and low-cost portfolio

  • When to sell and actually enjoy your money

By the end of the masterclass, you’ll have your investment account set up or optimized (if you already had one) with a hands-off investing system in place.

This is a hands-on, get the job done kind of class. Here’s how the class is structured:

In Part 1 of the class you will:

1) Learn Investing Basics:

I’ll go over how the stock market and investing work. You’ll learn basic terms you need to know (and nothing more!).

In Part 2 you will:

2) Understand Taxable vs. Tax-Advantaged Accounts:

Some investment accounts, like Roths, are tax-advantaged. But each of the accounts comes with its pros/cons and strategy.

3) Pick Your Accounts:

By the end of part 1, you’ll know which kind of investment account you’ll open.

1) Understand What You Can Invest In:

Stocks vs. bonds vs. index funds vs. ETFs… WTF? I’ll break it all down for you in plain English.

2) How to Build a Portfolio to Meet Your Goals:

How aggressive you want your portfolio to be depends on your age, goals, and risk tolerance. I’ll walk you through the most conservative to most aggressive portfolios.

3) Build Your Investing System:

I’ll show you how investing can be hands-off once you’ve funded your account and built your portfolio. I’ll also tell you how to maintain your account so it stays the right balance of risk.

Meet your teacher

Hi! I’m Veronica

I’m a Certified Financial Consultant by the NFEC and founder of Run Your Money. I also hold a degree in Social and Economic Justice, giving me a unique perspective on how your money plays out in the more extensive economic system.

I’ve been good with money since I started babysitting at age 11. I walked into my parents’ room less than a year later, holding over $2k I’d saved, and said, “Should I open a bank account or something?”

I’ve been saving and learning to be more strategic with money ever since.
